Fly Fishing Tip – Inside Corner Pocket

an inside corner pocket or what I would consider an inside corner pocket is just like what we have set up below us we have a rock point or a piece of a bank that creates a current seem so right here we have a nice defined current seem and we have on the outer edge here is the smooth fast water not usually a likely spot to find trout the current seam is a great spot to find trout but the inside corner pocket is often overlooked by bo anglers and wade anglers and is a great spot to find trout so let’s look at fishing an inside corner pocket when you’re fishing in a boat situation here you want to make your first cast count and you want to lead the boat this is also where a reach cast can be really important too so if I was drifting down and I saw this current scene coming up I’m gonna remember you always want to lead the boat with the fly and you want to drop that fly into the uppermost corner right as that current breaks off that seam and if the boat is moving a little slower than your fly then you want to be prepared to drop some slack into it so that fly will run right down that current seam
