Fishing Tip for Beginners1: Improved Clinch Knot

hello viewers and subscribers of the Midwest fishing show this is your host Andrew today I’m going to tie a knot for you I have some viewers who are beginner fishers and they’d like to know good knot to tie this is a great not a pretty much ty that’s not all the time it’s called the improved clinch knot there’s also a regular clinch knot but I like this one a lot better so i’ll show you how to dye it here’s the hook here’s the line you thread the line through I and then what I like to do is put my finger right here right on top of the eye and the end of the line that comes through I twist it around the line either six or eight times one two three four five six so I have it turned around at six times and some people say that if you have it doesn’t matter if you do it six or eight times or if you do it eight times it’s weaker if you do it eight times it’s stronger I just generally do between six and eight that seems to work the best for me so after you have it twisted around I twisted this 16 times right next to my finger right there right next to my finger there’s a whole you take the line and you put it through the hole and when you put it through that hole it makes another hole right there and you take the end of the line and you put it through that hole then what you do is you grab the little end of the line and you always want to moisten the line if you don’t mind what you’re going to do is when you tighten it down it’s going to weaken the line so you can use your saliva or water whatever I just use my saliva okay so i got the line wet and what i’m going to do is I’m going to pull on both sides of the line and then you’ll see how it’s up there like that you can just slide it right down and then I like to pull on both sides of the line and give it one last tighten what will happen is if you don’t have it tightened all the way down this is called the tagline on this side if you don’t have it tightened all the way down the tagline can run back through this not right here and it will come unraveled and it will come undone so you want to make sure you have it the knot slid all the way down and cinch down then I cut the tag line off and actually when I cut the tag line off I leave a little bit there just so that doesn’t happen because if you cut it too short it’ll go back through and it will unwind and it will come apart so that’s the nut it’s the improved clinch nut it works real well it’s a good not i’ll tell you it one more time another get another piece of line now this isn’t the strongest not by any means there’s plenty of stronger nuts but this one has always worked well for me and I’ve never had a problem with it if I tied it the right way and it does take some practice to get but once you learn how to tie it it’s very easy to tie and it works quite well so once again I put my finger on top of the loop are on top of the eye of the hook wrap it around the main line either six or eight times i’ll just do six again because it doesn’t take as long one two three four five and six and the whole right down by your finger is right there you take the end of that line and you put it through the hole by your finger this one might be kind of hard to see it creates another hole and you take that line and you put it through the hole that it makes pull it pull it a little bit don’t pull it too hard moisten the line and pull on both lines now once you have it pulled like that you can slide it down and then I like to pull it one more time so I make sure that it’s since direct and then once again I cut it leave a little bit of space right there just so it doesn’t unwind if you leave a big long tagline that can scare the fish but when it’s short like this it really doesn’t bother them so there it is the improved clinch knot please comment like and subscribe if you found this video useful and i’ll be doing more beginner fishing tutorials so stay tuned
